Academic Forgiveness
Academic Forgiveness (AR 9.3)
Students may appeal for academic forgiveness for past grades by completing the Academic Forgiveness Appeal Formnew window. Students must meet the following qualifications:
- The student received grades of D or F for these credits
- The student has been absent from the college (excluding Workforce Development and Continuing Education classes) for at least 5 consecutive calendar years since the end of their most recent semester
- The student has returned to the college and earned at least 6 post-return credits, which need not be taken concurrently; final grades have been submitted for each of those post-return credits; and a minimum grade of C was awarded in each of those classes
Requests will be sent for review and approval to the academic dean overseeing the program of study for the student in the Office of the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs/College Provost. Requests will be processed within 10 business days. Results will be shared with the Office of Records and Registration who will process the request and shall notify the student of the result in writing.
The decision of the academic dean to deny advancement of a request is final. No appeals to any committee are permitted.
